Brief Biography of My Life - Jennie Geisler
Jennie has been a committed Christian since she heard the gospel message at a Billy Graham Crusade in 1968. Her faith remains the most important aspect of her daily life. She studied for a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1977 and attended Fuller Seminary in order to integrate both psychology and faith. In the counseling sessions, she seeks to be sensitive to the client’s Christian background and shares in their specific requests. She is an experienced public speaking and has taught seminary courses with her husband, the Rev. “Jay” Geisler, on the Christian basis of the “Twelve Steps” as a means of spiritual discipleship and recovery.
Jennie has been in private practice since 1991. Before that time she worked in addiction recovery at St. Francis Hospital and as a therapist at Pressley Ridge School. Presently Jennie lives with her husband and two children in the historic town of East Pittsburgh, the former home of Westinghouse.
